Entry 3.1

While browsing through pictures of productions of Macbeth, this picture really caught my eye. On the left side of the picture, you see two men on horses at a hault. The horses look like they're heads are turned away due to pain or some kind of spell. The men do not show any sign of fear, but look very confident. It looks to me as if those are three witches on the right side of the picture, doing some kind of magic or spell on the men to keep them from continuing on their journey. The way the witches hands are up and down, is a symbolic gesture of them doing a spell. Also, in the background of the picture, are grey clouds and a dark sky, symbolizing that there is trouble going on. This picture makes me want to read the play, Macbeth, because I would want to know why the witches stop the men on the horses, and what is beyond the witches. This would really interest me if it has anything to do with magic or witches involved. Obviously, the archetypes would be the three witches, which represent three evil characters in the play. The warriors on the horses would be another archetype, representing two men fighting for a good cause, protecting something. Also, from the their surroundings, it looks to me as if they are in a desert, or empty feild, so their only way of transportation would be the horses. If the horses are in pain, and are unable to move, then the men cannot continue on their journey.

Entry 2.2: Magician

My archetype is Magician. According to Wikipedia, the definition of a magician is: a person who performs feats using supernatural means; a character in a fictional fantasy context who performs supernatural feats. I can actually relate to this archetype because ever since I was a child, I have always been into magic. I've always been a very creative/visionary person. I love the look on people's faces when I surprise and shock them with a trick I have up my sleeve. Someone this picture reminds me of is, Harry Houdini. He would always do crazy magic tricks like: the suspended straitjacket escape, the Chinese water torture cell, and  buried alive. They even have a ride named after him in Six Flags Great Adventure, where you sit, and the whole room appears to go upside down while you move back and forth in the room, all having to do with illusions. I can say that I do live my life as a magician in a way. I am still a very creative person, when I am bored at home and not doing anything, I'm always finding a way to keep myself occupied creatively, such as drawing, painting, or designing web pages. I chose this picture because I see doves, fire and a treasure chest which seems very interesting to me. All these things are very random, which symbolize a magician's way of life. A dove mysteriously flying out of a top hat, fire appearing out of no where, unlocking a treasure chest without a key, all of these are tasks a true magician can accomplish. I hope to one day accomplish atleast one of those tasks, but with positive determination, I'm sure I will be able to! The magician in the picture shown is Criss Angel, who stars in the show: "Mindfreak". I remember a big magic trick Criss Angel did was hanging 24 hours in box full of wet cement hanging above Times Square, and surviving, which was a huge deal because noone thought he could pull it off!
